Meet your hosts

Dan and Amanda, we own the wake park in Mackay (@wakehouse.aus) which is right on your back doorstep of the lodge.  I’d say Dan is the glue and I’m the host always keen to make sure you have the best and most enjoyable stay possible. Now I can’t control the weather or your mood but I can provide suggestions/ideas and introduce you to like-minded adventurous people.  The rest is up to you!

Like most working couples, we kinda lost our sense of adventure as we started to let work take over. We work all the time, 7 days a week, there is always something to do here, owning a wake park is like a mini farm. So building this lodge was a way for us to get some of our own adventure and fun back.  

We often host events at the park from Rumble on the Reef action sports festival held in September every year to a modern photography exhibition in July, live acoustic music every Friday at the wake park to the occasional performing band. There is never a dull moment and there is always someone interesting hanging around from pro wakeboarders to pro photographers, it’s definitely a haven for the artistic alternative types. 

It is our vision to provide a space where you can be super comfortable but spend all your time and money on experiences… not things.
